One of the most important features of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is providing an opportunity for parent, community, teachers, staff, and students voices to be heard as important EGUSD decisions are being made regarding academic priorities and budget. LCFF provides a framework for districts to work with their communities and implement locally tailored approaches to achieve greater student outcomes. EGUSD is in the process of soliciting input from ALL of its stakeholders. Low Cost Internet Available

If your child is eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program, you may qualify to receive internet for $9.95 per month.

To qualify for $9.95 a month Internet service and a low-cost computer, your household must meet all these criteria:

  1. Be located where Comcast offers Internet service
  2. Have at least one child eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program
  3. Have not subscribed to Comcast Internet service within the last 90 days
  4. Not have an overdue Comcast bill or unreturned equipment
  5. Call 1-855-8-INTERNET (1-855-846-8376) to request an application

On Friday April 29th , all parents and guardians are invited to have lunch on campus with their student(s).

Bring your child’s favorite lunch to share and enjoy the festivities that we have planned for the day. Parents who come will have an opportunity to take part in activities & receive prizes!

3rd Lunch begins at 11:28am & 4th Lunch begins at 1:01pm

Please park in the stadium parking lot and report to the Cafeteria for check-in.

*This event is limited to include only the parent/guardian. Extended family will not be permitted. Please bring photo ID

On our online Scholastic Book Fair is under way.  (Click on link to access our Book Fair homepage.) While our onsite middle school Spring Book Fair, Readology (Greek Mythology), begins on Monday, May 2 and runs through Friday, May 6, 2016, our online fair runs from April 27-May 10.  The online fair offers more selections from Young Adult novels to grade school and preschool reads. Orders placed by May 10, 2016, will be delivered to our school (free shipping).  Our library staff will deliver the order to students upon receipt of the shipment.  Online purchases, as well as onsite purchases, benefit our library. These proceeds purchase more books, databases, and magazines for our students.  Thank you in advance for supporting our Spring Book Fair!


Did you know that our fair is run by an award-winning student crew?  Scholastic recognized our Fall Book Crew with a President's Award for Exceptional Performance (Crew Initiative).  Visit our Book Fair and check out these kids in action! Click here to read about our recognition.


Our Spring Scholastic Book Fair is offering a presale of Rick Riordan's latest series The Trials of Apollo: Book One: The Hidden Oracle.  The hardcover book sells for $19.99 ($21.59 with sales tax).  Pre-ordered books will be delivered to the school within 5-7 days of the release date which is May 3, 2016, with no charge for shipping.  Pre-purchased books will be delivered to students upon arrival.  Proceeds from this pre-sale benefit our library.  Order forms are available at the library.  Just ask a library staff member for an order form. Forms and payment (cash or money order) must be received by Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at 3:30 p.m.


Attention MTHS Song writers, poets, lyricists and rappers!  The Monterey Trail Fight Song Lyric contest is here!  We need words to our traditional Fight Song music.  Listen to it on youtube – search: Fight Song Flute – scroll down 11 spots to mustang bands 38 seconds.  (link: ).  Turn in your lyrics to Coach Arcuri in Athletic Office by May 4th.  For any musical questions contact Mr. Smith in the Band Room.   For any literary questions contact Ms. Johnson in HK11.  Go Mustangs!

What's Happening?

CAHSEE Update - Diploma Information

  1. If you are a former student didn’t graduate due to low CASHEE scores they need to contact the Registrar’s Office at 916-688-0050 and speak to Debbie Gonzalez.
  2. Diplomas will need to be picked up at the Registrar’s office after showing valid ID.  Former MTHS student ID is not necessary.
  3. Diplomas can be picked up from 7:30am -3:00pm.
